We actually have no quarrel with the Irish Foreign Births Register itself. In fact, we think it is a great idea! The issue we have is that we believe it should extent to great-grandchildren of Irish citizens. Currently only the grandchild of an Irish citizen can gain citizenship through this method.

The company known as Gibson and Associates is also trying to advocate for allowing great-grandchildren of Irish citizens to apply for Irish citizenship.
